Yoga

Get active with your Little in the new year!  The Urban Lotus project now has their own space to offer yoga to our matches on an ongoing basis. We have chosen the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of January and February to start.  Please RSVP, as their space can only accommodate up to five matches each time.  RSVP by Jan 4 and 18, respectively.

          

BBBS Takes over EZ Air

Heads up…for the third consecutive year, we’ll be taking over EZ Air for just our matches!  We don’t yet have a date confirmed, but we’re hoping for the third week in January.  We’ll share it with you in the monthly email from your Match Support Specialist that will be sent out the beginning of January.  Bigs, feel free to participate as much or as little as you wish, as you can accompany your Little from area to area whether you participate or not!  Besides trampolines, there is a climbing wall, a balance game where you try to knock each other into the foam pit, and laser tag as well!  RSVP by Jan 11.

Star Gazing Party

The Jack C. Davis Observatory, Western Nevada College, 2269 Vanpatten Ave, Carson City, 89703

Explore the moon, stars, and planets with a guided viewing on the three large telescopes at this research-level observatory.  Our guide, Dr. Thomas Herring, lead Professor of Physics and Director of the Observatory,  will also wow us with some of his favorite science experiments!   RSVP early, as we will keep this group small for maximum access to viewing.

 

          

Financial Literacy for Matches with High School Littles

February 7, from 6 – 7:30 pm, TBD              

We are thrilled to partner with Wells Fargo Bank, who will be providing trained facilitators to lead matches through six sessions designed to introduce high school students to topics including budgeting, the responsible use of credit, understanding a paycheck stub, and preparing and paying for college.  Sessions will be offered on the first Thursday of the month, starting February 7, from 6 – 7:30 pm!  We are waiting to see how much interest there is before securing a training facility, so please RSVP ASAP to let us know of your interest in this incredible opportunity and availability to bring your Little on the first Thursday of each month this winter through spring.
