ASSET 26: Caring

Caring is letting things matter to us, including other people. It means valuing their well-being and acting with attention to their needs. Acts of kindness and words let others know that we care. Our caring can comfort another person even when neither of us has the power to change a difficult situation. As Bigs, you are already modeling this for your Little, but we can also encourage them with examples of how they can show they care every day. Caring can be as simple as reaching out to a classmate who looks lonely or is struggling with an issue. Not only will this help the person receiving the care, but studies show that they will feel the benefit as well.
