Glass Etching at BridgeWire Workshop

This is the second in a series of workshops led by experts and designed to teach our children marketable skills. Session 2: Glass Etching. You and your Little will design and make a personalized gift in time for Mothers’ Day! There will be a small fee of $10 or less per match. Space is limited to 15 matches.
BBBS Guided Bike Ride Along the River
Saturday, May 20, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Meet at Cottonwood Park, 777 Spice Islands Dr, Sparks 89431
To celebrate the end of Bike Week, experienced representatives from the Kiwanis Bike Program will lead us on an 8-mile bike ride along the Truckee River. Bring along your bicycles, water, and a snack. All age and fitness levels are welcome on this easy, flat ride, but you must already know how to ride a bike! We suggest you stop by the Kiwanis bike program in the next few weeks to tune up your bikes. (Ask your Match Support Specialist for details.) RSVP by May 16.
BBBS Graduation Party

We will be sending out invitations to our graduating seniors, their families, and Bigs to join us in celebrating their huge accomplishment! Please note: If your Little has been accepted into a college or trade school for the fall semester, they are eligible to apply for our Henselman Scholarship. Let us know if your Little needs an application. Five $500 scholarships will be awarded to this year’s graduates!
BridgeWire; Wooden Tic-Tac-Toe Game

This third session will introduce us to working with wood. We’ll make a simple game tic-tac-toe board to be played on the go! RSVP by May 26.

Thurs, June 22: Experience the Sensory Garden at Idlewilde Park with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, 2:00 PM.
Sat, July 8th: Volunteer with our partner BridgeWire Makerspace at their Reno Maker Faire. Help staff an interactive booth in return for free entry to enjoy the rest of the Faire before or after your shift!
Wed, July 12: Our Annual Match Picnic at Rancho San Rafael Park, 5:30-7:30 PM.
Sat, August 5: Go fishing at a local urban pond with the Nevada Department of Wildlife, 10:00 AM.
