Many children are feeling emotional about things they are hearing on the news and repeated in school. Whether true or not, they need to be able to express their feelings in a safe environment. Encourage them to tell you in a calm way. Ask them how it makes them feel. You don’t have to solve the problem, but listen to and validate their concerns.
